Our Philanthropy
Dedicated to a Better Tomorrow
Hurd Real Estate has made philanthropy a priority since Richard Hurd founded his business in 1981. For over 30 years, Richard, and the entire Hurd family, have helped support dozens of charities and organizations and want to contribute even more. Hurd and team are leaders in the real estate field, but their true passion is giving back to the communities they help develop.
The Jamie Hurd Amphitheater
Crafting a place for community, culture and creativity.
Their latest charitable venture has been the construction of the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater. Located in the heart of West Des Moines’s City/School Campus, the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater hosts concerts, outdoor movies, festivals, and theatrical performances. The pet-friendly amphitheater can accommodate up to 50 musicians onstage and has lawn seating for up to 2,000 people.
Jamie Hurd, the inspiration behind the amphitheater, was the daughter of Richard and Linda Hurd. Jamie was an art and music lover and accomplished guitar player. She passed away in 2009 from cancer. This amphitheater is a special way to honor Jamie and provide a space to spread her passion for the arts for generations to come.
